June 1, 2021 – The 55th annual Carolina Classic Home and Garden Show took place at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds May 21 – 23, 2021. This is the biggest and only locally-produced home show in the Midlands with all proceeds staying in Columbia to help the association work to keep housing affordable. From home builders to home remodeling, improvements, design, and more, this year, there were over 100 Home & Garden exhibitors serving as the public’s three-day one-stop-shop for anything and everything home-related.
Presented by the Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina, Hurricane Builders was very proud to accept the 2021 Innovation Award in the “Best Green Building Product” category for its initiative to begin installing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging ports into all garages – standard.

Why EV charging ports, you ask? There are several vehicular manufacturers who intend to be fully electric by the end of the decade, starting with the transition to produce hybrid-only models. Lamborghini, for example, now has an electrification plan in action in effort to continue reducing the negative environmental impacts caused by motor fuel. Automobili Lamborghini’s President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said in a statement released by CNBC, “Our response is a plan with a 360-degree approach, encompassing our products, taking us towards a more sustainable future while always remaining faithful to our DNA.”
